Polish consumers most often visit small local shops, close to their place of residence - 66% of respondents go there once or several times a week, according to a survey commissioned by Cushman & Wakefield. Online shopping at least once a week is done by 36% of Poles, while half do it once or several times a month.

In turn, parks and shopping centers achieve similar results in this respect (32% and 33% of Poles, respectively, go to them at least once a week).

More than 60% of Polish consumers do more grocery shopping (aer over PLN 100) in discount stores. A similar percentage is also chosen by shopping centers due to their entertainment offer, and nearly 40% of Poles decide to visit retail parks, valuing good knowledge of the space, which guarantees efficient and quick purchases, according to the report entitled. "UX retail in Poland. Poles on the construction of experience in commercial facilities".

Among the features that, according to the respondents, determine the attractiveness of the commercial facility, is the leading large selection of available stores. The right portfolio of tenants is important for nearly 70% of respondents. A slightly lower result was easily accessible and good infrastructure and free parking at the facility (at least 63%). 56% of consumers value their location close to the house (no further than a quarter of an expensive car from their place of residence). The gastronomic offer (almost 40%) was also high, and 1 out of 5 people indicated an entertainment offer, which shows that a large part of respondents visit commercial facilities not only because of the possibility of shopping in them, according to the report.

According to the Cushman & Wakefield survey, a retail park is primarily a place that should allow efficient shopping at good prices, low product prices and promotions are crucial for about 2/3 of Poles who visit them. Nearly 40% would appreciate the possibility of receiving a discount for regular customers. The study also showed that in the case of this commercial format, large parking lots are also an important advantage, which attracted the attention of nearly 1/3 of the respondents. In turn, for almost 40% of consumers, the incentive to visit a nearby retail park is a good knowledge of the space, enabling efficient and quick shopping.

The "UX in shopping centers" survey was conducted by ARC Rynek i Opinia on behalf of Cushman & Wakefield in September 2023 on a group of 513 Poles, including 504 users of commercial space. The study was conducted using the CAWI method.
