Auchan Romania enters the energy market

Auchan Romania retailer, in the process of automating cash registers, enters the electricity market.

The company established a fully controlled subsidiary, with the main field of activity ″Production, transmission and distribution of electricity″. The administrator of the new company, Auchan Renewable Energy, is the CEO of Auchan Romania, Ionuț Ardeleanu.

In November last year, Auchan Romania announced that it had taken measures to reduce energy consumption by 20 percent, in the context of soaring electricity prices, which were also transmitted to the increase in food prices.
