Enterprise Investors will acquire a minority stake in Ekoenergetyka-Polska

Polish Enterprise Fund VIII - private equity fund managed by Enterprise Investors (EI) - will take up a significant minority stake in the company Ekoenergetyka-Polska (Ekoenergetyka), operating in the area of ​​high technologies and creating infrastructure for charging electric vehicles, was given by EI. In total - in Ekoenergetyka and other e-mobility projects - the fund will invest over PLN 200 million, it was reported.

The transaction requires approval of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection.

"We strongly believe in the dynamic development of the electromobility sector and we are very impressed with the innovation, technological advancement of Ekoenergetyka and the way in which the company commercializes the developed solutions," said Sebastian Król, the partner at EI responsible for the transaction.

"Ekoenergetyka's solutions have been selected and implemented by the largest public transport operators in Poland and Europe, as well as the leading fuel charging and distribution networks. All this gives the company a real impact on the development of this young and rapidly growing market. we plan to use it to strengthen it as a leader," he added.

The main area of ​​the company's activity is the design and production of infrastructure for charging electric vehicles, both for public transport, professional transport and individual users.

"We decided to join forces with Enterprise Investors to take advantage of their experience in supporting the development of entrepreneurial companies at the stage of rapid growth, in which Ekoenergetyka is today. The company plans a dynamic expansion, primarily on foreign markets. For this next step in the development of our company, we were looking for a strong a financial partner who will support us with both capital and experience. Now we can focus on becoming the number one global player in its segment of the electromobility market," said co-founder of Ekoenergetyka Bartosz Kubik.

Founded in 2009 by Bartosz Kubik and Maciej Wojeński, Ekoenergetyka is the aftermath of an academic research project. Today, the company is a leading provider of advanced solutions in the area of ​​charging infrastructure with global potential. Its products and services have been implemented in the largest European cities, including in Barcelona, ​​Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Paris and Warsaw, according to the company.

Enterprise Investors is one of the largest private equity firms in Central and Eastern Europe. It has been operating since 1990 and established nine funds with a total capital exceeding EUR 2.5 billion. These funds have invested EUR 2.2 billion in 151 companies operating in various sectors of the economy. These funds exited 135 companies with gross proceeds of EUR 4.2 billion.
