The Austrian group Immofinanz is in the process of selling the Băneasa Airport Tower office building in the north of Bucharest, which recently became the headquarters of the Profi retailer, at a price of around EUR 10 million. The transaction is part of the plan of the new shareholder, the Czech billionaire Radovan Vitek, to liquidate EUR 1 billion of properties in order to pay off the loans with which he bought Immofinanz and S Immo.

"The company's strategy for the current portfolio of buildings involves the sale of properties with a cumulative value of RON 1 billion. Therefore, we are evaluating the sales opportunities at the portfolio level, including for buildings in Romania," stated the representatives of Immofinanz.

In the spring of this year, the Profi supermarket chain rented about 4,000 sqm of Băneasa Airport Tower, that is, almost 60 percent of the building. Baneasa Airport Tower has a total leasable area of 6,931 sqm.
