The interiors and bodies of Prague trams will be protected against graffiti. The public transport company (DPP) is now looking for a company that will equip the interior of trams with a special film and spray or paint the trams against graffiti on the outside. The aim is to protect the cars from damage. The cost is tentatively estimated at CZK 22.78 million, but the exact price will be determined by the results of the tender. This is clear from the documents published in the public procurement bulletin and on the tenderarena.cz website. Interested parties can apply until 20 April.

The purpose of the tender is to ensure the protection of the contracting authority's property from graffiti damage, which will reduce the operational costs of graffiti removal and thus increase the comfort of passengers, it was announced.

The contract is divided into two parts, namely the protection of the interior and the exterior of the cars. The first part concerns the interiors of classic T3 trams and the more modern KT8N2 bi-directional cars and is expected to cost a maximum of CZK 6.85 million. The remaining amount, i.e. about 15.9 million, is intended for spraying or painting the bodies of the T14 cars known as Porsche and the most modern 15T ForCity cars. The contract with the contractor or contractors will be for 48 months.

DPP owns around 800 trams of several types. Most have modernised T3 cars and modern 15Ts. The company last bought 15T For City trams, between 2011 and 2019. The transport company operates public transport and is the city's largest company, employing about 11,000 people. The capital city spends around CZK 16 billion annually on its operations.
