Saint-Gobain starts production on a new plasterboard line in Turda
The local subsidiary of the French group Saint-Gobain wants to expand its export presence, after recently completing the second production line at the plasterboard factory in Turda, the result of an investment of over EUR 50 million.
"This investment of over EUR 50 million reflects our continuous commitment to strengthening Saint-Gobain's presence in Romania. The new line, which operates in optimal parameters, represents a major step towards significantly improving production efficiency and expanding our product range," said Ovidiu Păscutiu, CEO of the Saint-Gobain Group in Romania.
In Romania, the Saint-Gobain group operates on 14 industrial sites located in Brăneşti, Călăraşi, Ploiesti, Satu-Mare, Turda, Suceava, Vălenii de Munte, Popeşti Leordeni and Ariceştii Rahtivani.
Among the projects in Romania to which Saint-Gobain supplied products are Timpuri Noi Square offices (offices developed by Vastint), Orhideea Towers (developed by CA Immo), the expansion of the Therme wellness complex, the Grigore Alexandrescu hospital and others.
