Shopee, a global e-commerce platform connecting buyers, brands and sellers, has opened its local headquarters in Warsaw UNIT - the most technologically advanced and ecological skyscraper in Poland.

Shopee Polska moved into its new office in Warsaw UNIT, in the business center of Warsaw at the Daszyńskiego roundabout, at the beginning of May this year. The lease agreement was signed with Ghelamco, the developer and owner of the skyscraper. The tenant was supported in the transaction by the consulting company CBRE.

"Warsaw UNIT attracts strong and innovative brands, to which we provide not only the best address in Warsaw, but above all the highest quality and safety level, modern technologies and ecological solutions. Now, in our group, we cordially welcome Shopee, a global e-commerce platform that has quickly gained popularity among Poles buying and selling online. I believe that Warsaw UNIT will create an ideal working environment for further dynamic development of the company," says Jarosław Zagórski, commercial and development director of Ghelamco Poland.

"The dynamic and collaborative office space in the Warsaw Unit building serves us as a foundation for further development of the local team, as well as improving our platform and services, making them even more accessible to users and entrepreneurs in Poland," says Ian Ho, Head of Shopee Poland.

Shopee, part of Sea Limited (NYSE: SE), was founded in 2015 in Southeast Asia and Taiwan. Shopee offers hassle-free, safe and engaging shopping opportunities that are used by millions of people every day. In 2021, the platform started operating in Poland, where it helps local brands and entrepreneurs to be successful in the e-commerce industry. In the first quarter of 2022, the Shopee app was the most downloaded shopping app in the world.

"Rondo Daszyńskiego is the office heart of the capital. Excellent communication with each of the Warsaw districts and rich gastronomic facilities are the elements thanks to which the employees of current and future tenants feel very comfortable here, and the location attracts new companies. They were also very important for our client, for whom, apart from the undeniable advantages of the building itself, the satisfaction of the Shopee team was important," says Joanna Andryszczyk, a senior consultant in the CBRE office department.

With 46 floors and 202 m in height, Warsaw UNIT is the most technologically advanced and ecological building in Poland, perfectly matching the ESG strategy of Ghelamco. The facility was the first high-rise building in Poland to receive the BREEAM certificate with the highest possible Outstanding rating. In addition, it can boast of certification in the Green Standard Building, WELL Health-Safety Rating, WELL v2 (precertification) and "Object without barriers". In addition, Warsaw UNIT has a proprietary Signal OS operating system developed by Ghelamco with its own application, which helps, among others in controlling energy saving and recovery. The office building uses anti-pandemic solutions. The ventilation system is secured on the ventilation units with virucidal UV lamps, additionally giving the possibility to work only with the use of fresh air, thus freeing the interior of the office building from smog.

In May this year, as part of its ESG strategy, Ghelamco announced that Warsaw UNIT will be the first skyscraper in Poland powered by 100% clean energy from photovoltaic farms. As a result, CO2 emissions throughout the building's life cycle will be reduced by more than half.

The skyscraper is distinguished by elegant, timeless architecture and original solutions, such as the impressive kinetic facade in the form of a dragon's scale, undulating in the wind, or Skyfall Warsaw - the highest fully glazed observation deck in Poland with a special movable platform, guaranteeing guests an unforgettable experience.
