The old Podgoreanu mansion in Cozieni, about 20 km from Bucharest, has been reopened following a major renovation and extension. The 4-star hotel has 75 rooms. The investment in the new hotel is EUR 8 million.
The mansion was purchased by Next Hospitality, a company owned by Claudia Badiu, who also owns the Paloma Tours travel agency.

"Our goal was to save this architectural gem, preserving its original style, and give it back to the community with new amenities to meet the needs of today's travelers and event planners," says Claudia Badiu, CEO of Next Hospitality.

There are currently more than 810 Mercure hotels in over 60 countries.
