The Urleasca Wind Farm company received the approval for a 96.9 MW wind farm in Brăila. If it is realized, the investment could reach EUR 78-80 million.

Urleasca Wind Farm is owned by BIG Energia Holdings (Hungary), a division of the Israelis from BIG Shopping Centers. For its part, BIG Shopping Centers owns over 67 percent of AFI Properties Ltd, whose portfolio includes AFI Cotroceni or AFI Braşov.

At the moment, Romania has a total installed capacity of 3,000 MW in wind projects, all onshore. The largest project was completed in 2012 and is a 600 MW investment made by Czechs from CEZ.
