Wendy's opens first location in Bucharest

The American fast-food restaurant chain Wendy's has opened its first location in Bucharest, in the Mega Mall shopping center. Customers lined up an hour before the official opening to take advantage of the 50% discount granted to the first 100 customers.

Wendy's wants to open 100 restaurants in Romania in the next 5 years, with an investment of USD 200 million. The next restaurant will open in Ploiești, in July.

Currently, 30 employees work at the Bucharest restaurant. In the Mega Mall kitchen also work employees brought in from Canada to teach Romanians how to make the dishes.

The Wendy's restaurant chain has over 7,000 restaurants worldwide, of which over 1,300 are located outside the United States.
